Two days Hands-on-Training on “Total Station” and “MOU Signing Ceremony with TOSET Land surveying Institute”
The Department of Civil Engineering, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal organized “Two days Hands-on-Training on Total Station and MOU Signing with TOSET Land surveying Institute” on 24.04.2025 & 25.04.2025, Thursday and Friday in the ISDTP Seminar Hall. The function was conducted in the august presence of Dr.B.Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary and Mr.M.Karthik, Executive Director. Dr.A.Jegan, Principal addressed the students. Mrs.G.Anusha, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, welcomed the gathering. The chief guest Mr.Balamurugan Manickam, Training Director and Mr. Sri Keerthi Prabhu, Training Head, Toset Land Surveying Institute, Salem, were the resource persons for the Hands on training.
The session on Day-1 focused on introducing the Total Station, its types, applications, components, and setting up the instrument, followed by a field demonstration and hands-on practice in basic surveying operations. The Day-2 advanced into traversing, topographic surveys, and data management, including transferring data to software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The participants simulated a real-world project, processed survey data and presented their findings. The program was concluded with a recap, discussion of best practices and certificate distribution.
