21st Batch First Year Inaugural Function and Freshers’ Day Celebration – 2026

Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal conducted the Inauguration Ceremony for the Commencement of the I-Year classes on 08.09.2026, Tuesday with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was presided over by Dr. S. Babu, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions and Managing Director of the Selvam Group of Companies.

Dr.B.Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary & Mr.M.Karthik, Executive Director felicitated the assemblage and Dr. S. Ramabalan, Principal addressed the gathering.

The programme was honoured by Prof. Dr. Jayanthasri Balakrishnan, Educationalist and Eloquent Speaker as the Chief Guest. She delivered an inspiring address on the theme “Kanavu Meipada Vendum” (Dreams Must Become Reality). In her address, Prof. Dr. Jayanthasri Balakrishnan motivated the students to dream big, set clear goals and work consistently towards achieving their ambitions. She emphasized that dreams can become reality only through self-confidence, hard work, perseverance, discipline, time management and positive thinking.

With the spirit of “A New Journey – New Dreams – New Goals,” the function provided a warm welcome, renewed enthusiasm and strong motivation to the first-year students as they embarked upon their new academic journey.

Later, the ceremony was continued with the Freshers’ Day Celebration by conducting various cultural events that includes dance, singing, drama etc. All the students participated with great energy and enthusiasm.

The event was graced by the presence of Controller of Examination, Placement Officer, Deans, Heads of all the Departments, Admission Officer, Faculty Members, ISDTP Trainers, IDC Team, students and their parents, making this occasion a memorable and inspiring start to the academic journey of the first-year students.
