A Seminar on Smart Grid: Basics to Advanced Technologies
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Spark Association organized a seminar on “Smart Grid: Basics to Advanced Technologies” on 11.07.2026 (afternoon) for II, III, and IV year EEE students. The seminar aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of smart grid technologies, their architecture, and their role in modern power systems. The resource person, Dr. M. Vinoth, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, explained the fundamentals of smart grids, advanced metering infrastructure, renewable energy integration, smart sensors, communication technologies, and intelligent monitoring and control systems. Students gained valuable insights into the applications and benefits of smart grids in enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of electrical power networks. Nearly 145 students actively participated, making the session informative and beneficial.
