A Seminar on Electrical Substation Layout: Components and Functions

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Spark Association organized a seminar on “Electrical Substation Layout: Components and Functions” on 11.07.2026 (Forenoon) for II, III, and IV Year EEE students. The seminar aimed to provide students with a clear understanding of electrical substation layouts, their major components, and their functions in power systems. The resource person, Mr.V.Kamaldas, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, explained the layout of substations and the role of key equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, busbars, and protection systems. Students gained valuable insights into the operation and maintenance of electrical substations and their practical applications. Nearly 145 students actively participated, making the session informative and beneficial.
