Workshop on Powering the Future: Electric Vehicle Technology

The Departments of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, Selvam College of Technology (Autonomous), Namakkal, jointly organized a workshop on “Powering the Future: Electric Vehicle Technology” on 26.09.2026. The workshop was conducted for the II, III, and IV Year students of EEE and Mechanical Engineering with the objective of providing students with practical knowledge and industry-oriented insights into the rapidly evolving field of electric vehicle technology.

The resource persons for the programme were Mr. S. Giri Dharan, Industrial Automation Expert, PUMO Technovation India Private Limited, Coimbatore, and Mr. V. Vignesh, Electric Vehicle (EV) Design Engineer, PUMO Technovation India Private Limited, Coimbatore.

The sessions focused on the fundamentals of electric vehicles, EV architecture, electric powertrains, battery technologies, motor and controller systems, charging infrastructure, electric vehicle design, and industrial applications. The resource persons shared practical insights into current EV technologies and industry practices, helping students understand the integration of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems in modern electric vehicles.

The programme served as an effective platform for enhancing the technical knowledge, practical skills, and industry awareness of students in the field of electric vehicle technology and contributed to preparing them for emerging opportunities in the rapidly developing electric mobility industry. A total of EEE and Mechanical Engineering students participated and benefited from the programme.
