Hands-on Training on Mini Project Development

The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully conducted a Hands-on Training on “Mini Project Development” for third-year undergraduate students. The session was guided and monitored by Mr. R. Dineshkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SCT. The training focused on project planning, design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and documentation. Students were guided in identifying suitable engineering problems and developing innovative solutions. A total of 10 student batches successfully designed, fabricated, and tested their mini project prototypes. Continuous technical guidance and troubleshooting support were provided throughout the project development process. Each batch demonstrated the working model and explained its design, operation, and practical applications. The training enhanced students’ technical competency, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. It also strengthened their confidence in applying theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering applications. The programme served as an effective platform for developing industry-oriented project skills and preparing students for professional engineering practice.
