Workshop on AI for Career Readiness and Placement Excellence
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Selvam College of Technology (Autonomous), in collaboration with IQAC and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a one-day workshop on “AI for Career Readiness and Placement Excellence” on 04.07.2026 from 09.30 a.m. to 03.30 p.m. in Physical Mode for the III and IV Year Artificial Intelligence and Data Science students. The primary objective of the workshop was to familiarize students with the latest Artificial Intelligence tools and strategies that can enhance employability, technical competency, and placement preparation in the rapidly evolving technology sector.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Malaiarasu G, Associate Data Engineer, VCreaTek Consulting, Pune, who provided valuable insights into the application of AI in career development and recruitment processes. The session focused on leveraging Generative AI tools for resume building, LinkedIn profile optimization, aptitude preparation, coding practice, interview preparation, portfolio development, and effective communication. Students were introduced to various AI-powered platforms that can assist in learning new technologies, solving programming problems, generating project ideas, and improving productivity.
The resource person also discussed current industry expectations, recruitment trends, and the essential technical and soft skills required by employers. Practical demonstrations showcased how AI tools can support students in preparing for coding assessments, mock interviews, technical documentation, and project presentations. Interactive activities encouraged participants to explore AI-assisted learning techniques and understand the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in academic and professional environments.
The workshop proved to be highly beneficial in preparing students for campus placements and future career opportunities. Participants gained awareness of emerging AI technologies, improved their understanding of industry requirements, and learned practical approaches to enhance their employability using AI-driven tools. The department sincerely thanked Mr. Malaiarasu G for delivering an inspiring and informative session and acknowledged the active participation of the students, which contributed to the overall success of the programme.
