Two Days Workshop on “Code-Connect-Control: IoT and its Applications”
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Selvam College of Technology successfully conducted Two-days Workshop titled “Code-Connect-Control: IoT and its Applications” on April 24th and 25th, 2025. The workshop aimed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to the rapidly growing field of the Internet of Things (IoT).
Dr.B.Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary, Mr.M.Karthik, Executive Director and Dr.A.Jegan, Principal graced the occasion. Mrs.R.Bhuvaneswari, Head of the Department – Computer Science and Engineering, welcomed the gathering. Er.V.Sasikumar, Managing Director of Mikrosun Technology, Salem served as the Resource Person and conducted the workshop. He emphasized the significance of emerging technologies, highlighting how IoT is revolutionizing industries worldwide. He encouraged students to embrace innovation and apply their knowledge to solve real-world challenges.
On Day-1, the session focused on introducing the fundamentals of IoT, including its architecture, components and applications in various domains such as healthcare, smart cities and industrial automation. The session also provided valuable insights into the latest IoT trends and career opportunities in the field. On Day-2, hands-on training was given to the participants, who worked with Python programming, interfacing sensors with microcontrollers and cloud platforms. Students developed small IoT-based projects, fostering collaborative learning and creativity.
The workshop concluded with a Valedictory session, during which certificates were distributed to all participants. The attendees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to engage in such an enriching learning experience.
