Seminar on “Banking and Financial Opportunities towards MBA Students”
The Department of Management studies, Selvam College of Technology in association with the SIGMA Association organized a Seminar on “Banking and Financial Opportunities towards MBA Students” on 23.11.2024 for the students of MBA. Dr.P.Selvaraj, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the inaugural function in the august presence of Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary of Selvam Educational Institutions and Mr. M. Karthik, Executive Director of Selvam College of Technology. Dr. A. Jegan, Principal, addressed the students. Dr.A.Jayaseelan, Professor & Head of the Department welcomed the gathering.
Mr.C.Raja, Branch Manager, DBS Bank, Namakkal honoured the event as the chief guest. He stated that, to understand the general scenario of banking industry we need to understand the challenges and opportunities in the banking sectors. Since the banking sector has seen an enormous boom in India there are tremendous career opportunities for the youth in banking sector. Banking being one of the most sought after career choices among the students as it is an entry into a well-paid, secure and status career. Banks are looking for good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal with customers, an alert nature, and basic knowledge of the industry. However to private sector banks at higher than entry level one needs specialization in some specific areas. MBAs recruited by private and foreign banks are given plum packages to the extent of about Rs 25000-30000 a month. The session was highly informative and beneficial for the students.
