The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Selvam College of Technology organized an Alumni talk Session on “How to build a Team in professional life” on 23.11.2024, Saturday through virtual mode. Dr.P.Selvaraj, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the function in the august presence of Dr.B.Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary of Selvam Educational Institutions and Mr.M.Karthik, Executive Director of Selvam College of Technology. Dr.A.Jegan, Principal, Selvam College of Technology addressed the students. Dr.G.Selvaraj, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, welcomed everyone who were present in the meet.
The Prominent alumnus of our Department Er. Santosh Kumar, MIS and Operations Manager, Harissons Bags Private Limited, Mumbai, began his lecture by explaining the importance of team dynamics in professional settings. He discussed the strategies for building trust among team members, such as active listening, openness, and delivering on promises. The session delved into the significance of strategic planning in team-building. The speaker shared insights on how to lead by example, inspire team members and maintain a positive work environment. Effective communication was underscored as a cornerstone of team success. He also discussed techniques for active listening, providing constructive feedback, and managing conflicts. The speaker highlighted the importance of MIS in managing and streamlining workflows. He explained how MIS serves as a backbone for decision-making by ensuring accurate, timely, and structured data sharing within teams. All the students of Mechanical Engineering actively participated in the webinar and enhanced their skills.
