Hands-on Training on Cyber Security: Protecting the Digital World

The Department of Information Technology organized a Hands-on Training on “Cyber Security: Protecting the Digital World” on 01.08.2026 for the students of III IT. The programme was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and to create awareness about the growing cyber threats affecting individuals, organizations, and digital infrastructures. The training focused on equipping students with essential cybersecurity knowledge and practical skills required to protect digital assets and ensure safe computing practices.

The hands-on training covered important concepts such as cyber threats, malware, phishing attacks, ransomware, password security, network security, ethical hacking, vulnerability assessment, data encryption, firewalls, and cyber safety practices. Students actively participated in practical demonstrations and exercises to identify security vulnerabilities, understand attack methodologies, and implement basic security measures using cybersecurity tools and techniques. The resource person also highlighted the significance of cybersecurity across industries, the importance of ethical and responsible use of technology, and the growing career opportunities in Information Security, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, and Cyber Defense. The interactive training enhanced students’ awareness of real-world cyber challenges and encouraged them to adopt secure digital practices while preparing for careers in the rapidly evolving field of cybersecurity.
