Clinical Excellence Series on BioMed ICU Bootcamp – Hands-on Critical Care Technologies
The Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Biomedingers Association organized a Clinical Excellence Series titled “BioMed ICU Bootcamp – Hands-on Critical Care Technologies” on 08.08.2026 for II and IV Year Biomedical Engineering students. The programme was designed to provide students with practical exposure to critical care technologies and enhance their understanding of biomedical equipment used in intensive care environments. Ms. M. Susmitha, B.E., Founder, SS Biomedical Innovation, Chennai, served as the resource person and provided valuable practical insights into critical care technologies and their applications in clinical settings. The hands-on programme enabled students to gain a better understanding of the role of biomedical engineers in critical care environments, including the operation, application, and technical management of medical equipment. The session helped students connect theoretical concepts with practical applications and understand the importance of medical equipment in supporting patient monitoring, diagnosis, and critical care management. Around 100 students participated in the programme. The programme served as an effective bridge between academic knowledge and real-world hospital practices, enhancing students’ confidence, practical skills, and preparedness for careers in biomedical engineering and clinical technology management.
