Alumni Talk Series on Awareness Program on Financial Literacy and Banking Essentials for Civil Engineers

The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the STORM Association, organized an Alumni Talk Series titled “Awareness Program on Financial Literacy and Banking Essentials for Civil Engineers” on 08.08.2026, at the IT Support Lab. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about financial literacy, banking services, savings, investments, loans, credit management, and responsible financial planning. Mr. M. Mageshwaran, Relationship Manager, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Karur, served as the Prominent Alumni and Resource Person for the session. He shared valuable insights from his professional experience and highlighted the importance of financial awareness for students and young professionals. The interactive programme helped students understand essential banking practices, financial decision-making, and effective money management. The session provided students with practical knowledge beyond the academic curriculum and encouraged them to develop sound financial habits for their personal and professional future.
