Event on Modern Soil Testing Techniques for Civil Engineers

The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the STORM Association, organized a No Book Day Workshop on “Modern Soil Testing Techniques for Civil Engineers” on 08.08.2026 at the IT Support Lab. The programme aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of modern soil testing methods and their applications in civil engineering. The session focused on the importance of soil investigation, testing procedures, interpretation of test results, and their role in foundation and construction practices. Mrs. R. Yazhini, AP/Civil, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, served as the Resource Person and provided valuable insights into contemporary soil testing techniques. The interactive session helped students strengthen their understanding of soil properties, testing methodologies, and practical applications in geotechnical engineering. The programme enhanced students’ technical knowledge, practical awareness, and confidence in applying soil testing concepts to real-world civil engineering projects.
