STEAM Association and SAEINDIA Club Inaugural Function and Seminar on Recent Trends in Electric Vehicles
The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully organized the STEAM Association & SAEINDIA Club Inaugural Function and Seminar on “Recent Trends in Electric Vehicles” on 08.08.2026 for the II, III, and IV Year Mechanical Engineering students. The programme was graced by Er. Kasiraja Thangapandian, Director of Engineering – IT, Visteon Technical & Service Centre, Chennai; Treasurer, SAEINDIA; and Vice-Chairman, SAEINDIA Southern Section, who delivered an insightful seminar on “Recent Trends in Electric Vehicles”. He shared valuable knowledge on the latest developments in electric vehicle technologies, industry practices, emerging career opportunities, and the future scope of sustainable transportation. Through this seminar, students gained a deeper understanding of current industrial trends and advancements in the automotive sector. As part of the inaugural function, the new office bearers of the STEAM Association were formally inducted, marking the commencement of the association’s activities for the academic year.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, and more than 140 students benefited from the session. The event served as an excellent platform for enhancing students’ technical knowledge and strengthening their industry exposure.
