Hands-on Training on Logic to Code: Developing Programming Skills
The Department of Information Technology organized a Hands-on Training on “Logic to Code: Developing Programming Skills” on 19.09.2026 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the students of II and III IT. The programme was conducted by Mr. Vignesh, Lead Technical Trainer, Yellomatics.ai, Erode. The training was designed to provide students with practical exposure to programming fundamentals and to strengthen their logical thinking, problem-solving, and coding skills. The programme focused on helping students understand how computational problems can be analyzed, broken down into smaller tasks, and translated into efficient and structured computer programs.
The hands-on training covered important concepts such as problem-solving techniques, computational thinking, algorithms, flowcharts, programming logic, variables, data types, operators, conditional statements, loops, functions, arrays, strings, and basic data structures. Students actively participated in practical demonstrations and coding exercises to understand programming concepts and develop solutions for real-world problems. The resource person explained various approaches to analyzing programming problems, designing algorithms, identifying logical errors, and converting algorithms into executable code. Students were encouraged to practice coding through hands-on activities and were guided in debugging programs, improving code efficiency, and developing structured solutions.
The training also emphasized the importance of logical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, clean coding practices, debugging techniques, and systematic problem-solving in software development. The resource person provided practical insights into the skills expected by the software industry and highlighted the role of strong programming fundamentals in areas such as Software Development, Python Development, Web Development, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Application Development. The interactive nature of the programme enabled students to gain confidence in approaching programming challenges independently and applying logical concepts to coding problems.
The hands-on training enhanced the students’ programming knowledge, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and coding confidence. The programme provided students with valuable practical exposure to industry-oriented programming practices and motivated them to develop consistent coding skills. Overall, the training served as an effective platform for strengthening the students’ programming foundation and preparing them for advanced technical learning and future careers in the software industry.
