Industrial Visit to Pastuer Institute of India.
Students Underwent Industrial Visit to Pastuer Institute of India. A brief introduction about the institute was given by Dr. A. Premkumar, where he explained about the 110 year old history institute and its growth. Dr. C. Muniandi explained us about the animal house facility and the ethical steps which they follow to maintain the lab. He also explained us about drug testing in animals like rat and guinea pig, he demonstrated us the way of handling animals and biosaftey procedures involved. Later we were taken to the vaccine production center where Dr. Sibani Barman explained us about DTP vaccine and Vero Cell Derived Rabies Vaccine production and the need for vaccination was emphasized by her.
Students were taken to the museum present in the institute which displayed us some of the oldest and rarest instrument. The students were educated on Rabies on the part of the visit where do and don’ts were explained on dog bite and rabies.
