Hackathon Bootcamp: Idea to Prototype
The Department of Information Technology organized a Workshop on “Hackathon Bootcamp: Idea to Prototype” for the IT students. The programme was designed to encourage innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students by guiding them through the process of transforming innovative ideas into functional prototypes. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical exposure to hackathon methodologies, design thinking, project planning, and rapid application development. It helped students understand how to identify real-world problems, generate innovative solutions, and convert their ideas into practical technology-based applications within a limited time frame.
The workshop covered important concepts such as problem identification, brainstorming, design thinking, idea validation, team collaboration, technology selection, prototype development, user interface design, coding practices, and project presentation. Students actively participated in interactive sessions, brainstorming activities, and practical exercises to identify problem statements, develop creative solutions, design prototypes, and understand the process of building minimum viable products (MVPs). The resource person also highlighted the importance of teamwork, time management, effective communication, critical thinking, and the use of modern development tools in successful hackathon projects. The workshop provided students with practical insights into converting innovative concepts into working prototypes and presenting their solutions effectively to evaluators. It also introduced them to opportunities in innovation challenges, startup development, entrepreneurship, and technology-based competitions. The interactive workshop enhanced students’ technical knowledge, creative thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities while motivating them to develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges and preparing them for future hackathons and industry-oriented project development.
