Guest Lecture on “Mathematical Transforms in Engineering concepts and Applications”

The Department of Science and Humanities, Selvam College of Technology organized a Guest Lecture Programme on “Mathematical Transforms in Engineering Concepts and Applications” on 13.03.2025 for the I-Year students. Dr.P.Selvaraj, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the inaugural function in the august presence of Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary and Mr. M. Karthik, Executive Director. Dr. A. Jegan, Principal, addressed the students. Mrs. R. Babysalini, I-Year Academic Coordinator and Dr. R. Thangammal, Head of the Department-Mathematics welcomed the gathering.

Dr.P.Manivannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Government College of Engineering, Salem honoured the event as a resource person. He initiated the session by explaining Laplace Transforms and how to solve the problems in it using some strategies. He guided the students how to remember the formulas in an easy way. In addition, he demonstrated Inverse Laplace Transform, t- shifting, Periodic function and initial & final value theorem. Moreover, he taught Z- Transform and elementary properties, solution of difference equations using Z- Transforms. Furthermore, the lecture was on Fourier Transform, Fourier sine and cosine transform and convolution theorem and its problems with solution. The resource person guided the students by giving some tricks, to solve the problems in an easy way, and highlighted the important questions from the topics. The session was more interactive and highly informative for the students.
