Genome Rush

A technical event titled “Genome Rush” was conducted by Dr.K. Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Selvam College of Technology, on 04.07.2026 at Mechanical Seminar Hall. The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing students’ knowledge and interest in genomics and related biotechnological concepts through interactive and competitive activities.

The resource person designed the event to include various rounds that tested the participants’ understanding of genetics, molecular biology, and genome-based applications. The activities encouraged analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and quick decision-making among the students. Emphasis was placed on applying theoretical knowledge in a fun and engaging manner.

The event was highly interactive and enthusiastic, with students actively participating in all rounds. The competitive environment motivated students to perform better and showcase their knowledge and skills. The well-structured rounds and clear instructions ensured smooth conduct of the programme.

A total of 49 students participated in the event and benefited from the learning experience. At the end of the event, students gained a better understanding of genomic concepts and their practical relevance. The programme enhanced their interest in biotechnology and encouraged active learning through participation and collaboration.
