Value Added Course on “ELV Systems for Smart Building and Security Application.”
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering – Seltronix Association, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal organized a One Week Value Added Course on “ELV Systems for Smart Building and Security Application” to our III-year ECE students from 29.04.2026 to 30.04.2026 & 04.05.2026 to 06.05.2026. Dr.S.Babu, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the function. The VAC was conducted in the presence of Dr.B.Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary of Selvam Educational Institutions, Mr.M.Karthik, Executive Director and Dr.S.Ramabalan, Principal of SCT, Dr.K.Vidyavathi, Dean Academics (Senior), Mrs.N.S.Elakkiya Head of the Department/ECE, welcomed the gathering. Arun Jebabooshan T, Senior Automation Engineer, Innovaskill Technologies, Bangalore, graced the programme as the distinguished resource person. He shared valuable insights on ELV systems, smart building technologies, industrial automation practices, and modern security applications used in residential, commercial, and industrial infrastructures.
The programme aimed to enhance students’ technical competency in ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems, smart automation technologies, and integrated security solutions. Throughout the training, participants gained hands-on experience in surveillance systems, access control systems, fire alarm systems, public address systems, networking fundamentals, smart building automation, and IoT-enabled security applications. The course provided practical exposure to industry-standard tools and real-time implementation techniques used in intelligent building management systems. Interactive sessions, demonstrations, and practical activities enabled students to strengthen their analytical and troubleshooting skills while understanding modern automation and security infrastructure. Nearly 46 students actively participated and greatly benefited from the programme, acquiring industry-relevant skills that will support their future career opportunities in smart building technologies, industrial automation, networking, and security system integration.
