STORM Association Inaugural Function and A Workshop on Concrete Performance Evaluation and Quality

The Department of Civil Engineering, Selvam College of Technology, organized the STORM Association Inauguration and a Workshop on “Concrete Performance Evaluation and Quality” on 01.08.2026 at the ISDTP Seminar Hall. The programme aimed to inaugurate the department association and provide students with practical knowledge on concrete quality and performance evaluation. Dr. K. Vijaya Sundravel, M.E., Ph.D., Post Doc., HR – Lead, Eagle Rebar Engineering Services (India) Private Limited, Namakkal, served as the resource person. He explained the importance of quality control, concrete testing methods, material selection, and durability in construction. The session also highlighted industry practices and quality standards followed in modern civil engineering projects. Students actively participated in the interactive discussions and gained valuable insights into practical construction challenges. The programme enhanced their technical knowledge, understanding of concrete performance evaluation, and awareness of quality assurance practices. The event also marked the successful inauguration of the STORM Association, encouraging students to actively participate in future technical, professional, and co-curricular activities organized by the department.
