National-Level Technical Symposium – SCT TRITECH 2K26
The Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biotechnology at Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, jointly organized the National Level Technical Symposium, “SCT-TRITECH-2K26,” on September 19, 2026, at the Mechanical Seminar Hall. Hosted under the student associations STORM, STEAM, and BIOSEL, the symposium provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their technical knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
Dr. S. Babu, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the function. The event took place in the august presence of Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary, and Mr. M. Karthik, Executive Director of Selvam College of Technology.
Dr. A. Ramabalan, Principal, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of innovation, hands-on learning, and active event participation in shaping successful engineering careers. Earlier, Dr. G. Selvaraj, HoD/Mechanical, delivered the welcome address, extending a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty, and participants. Dr. M. Thenmozhi, HoD/Biotechnology, introduced the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest, Mr. B. Udayachandran, Head of Works Engineering at Lucas TVS Ltd., Padi, Chennai, delivered an inspiring address. He shared valuable insights into industrial practices, technological advancements, employability skills, and modern corporate expectations, motivating students to enhance their technical competencies and innovative thinking.
As part of SCT-TRITECH-2K26, the Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Biotechnology organized a diverse array of technical and non-technical competitions designed to test participants’ logical thinking, practical skills, creativity, and communication abilities.
Around 400 students from various colleges across Tamil Nadu actively participated in the event. The symposium provided them with valuable exposure to emerging technologies, interactive learning, and networking opportunities with industry professionals and peers. This strong intercollegiate presence fostered vibrant knowledge sharing, healthy competition, and collaborative learning, with top performers receiving attractive prizes.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. G. Anusha, HoD of Civil Engineering, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the management, dignitaries, Chief Guest, faculty members, volunteers, and participants. The symposium was formally drawn to a close with the National Anthem, having successfully strengthened the spirit of technical excellence, innovation, and professional development among aspiring engineers.
