Scientific Perspectives of Vastu Shastra in Building Design

The Department of Civil Engineering, STORM Association, Selvam College of Technology, organized a seminar on “Scientific Perspectives of Vastu Shastra in Building Design” on 29.08.2026 at 1:30 p.m. in the Surveying Laboratory. The programme aimed to introduce students to the scientific aspects of Vastu Shastra and its relevance to modern building design. Dr. S. Gunasekar, Assistant Professor, Civil Department, served as the Resource Person and shared valuable insights into the practical application of Vastu principles in building planning. The session focused on integrating traditional principles with modern engineering practices, functional design, environmental considerations, and sustainability. The interactive seminar enhanced students’ technical knowledge, innovative thinking, and practical understanding of holistic approaches to sustainable and harmonious building design.
