Hands-on Training on PCB Design for Medical Electronics Using KiCad
The Department of Biomedical Engineering organized a Clinical Excellence Series on “Hands-on Training of PCB Design for Medical Electronics Using KiCad” on 22.08.2026 for III-year Biomedical Engineering students. The programme was designed to provide practical exposure to PCB design and its applications in medical electronics. Ms.A.Siwaani, Embedded Software Engineer, Spovum Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, served as the resource person and guided the students through the fundamentals and practical aspects of PCB design using KiCad. The hands-on training helped students understand the design process, develop technical skills, and appreciate the role of embedded systems and electronic design in biomedical applications. The programme benefited 49 students, providing them with valuable practical experience and strengthening their technical capabilities in medical electronics and PCB design.
