Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Effective IQAC Practices and Academic Audits
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Selvam College of Technology (Autonomous), Namakkal, organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Quality Assurance in Higher Education: Effective IQAC Practices and Academic Audits” on 18.07.2026 for the teaching faculty of the institution. The resource person for the programme was Dr. L. M. Nithya, Professor & Dean (CSE & IT), SNS College of Technology. The programme was conducted to enhance faculty members’ understanding of quality assurance practices in higher education and to strengthen institutional quality initiatives through effective IQAC functioning. The session emphasized the significance of continuous quality improvement, outcome-based education, academic excellence, and the role of IQAC in fostering a culture of quality within higher educational institutions. During the session, the resource person provided valuable insights into the functions and responsibilities of IQAC, the implementation of quality benchmarks, best practices in institutional quality enhancement, and the systematic planning and execution of Academic and Administrative Audits (AAA). She also discussed documentation practices, evidence-based reporting, quality indicators, accreditation requirements, and strategies for achieving excellence in NBA accreditation processes. Practical approaches for maintaining academic records, conducting internal audits, and promoting a quality-driven institutional environment were shared through real-life examples. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, enabling participants to clarify their queries and gain valuable insights into sustaining quality excellence in higher education.
