Value Added Course on “Introduction to Medical Coding” (ICD-10-CM & CPT Basics)

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Biomedingers Association  organizes a Value Added Course on “Introduction to Medical Coding (ICD-10-CM & CPT Basics)” from 20.04.2026 to 28.04.2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of providing students with fundamental knowledge and practical insights into medical coding systems, which play a crucial role in healthcare documentation, billing, and insurance processes.  The resource person Er. N. Mathimurugan, M.E (Ph.D), from Sree Mahalakshmi Technology Solutions, Coimbatore, who shared his expertise and industry experience with the participants. The sessions covered key topics such as the structure and guidelines of ICD-10-CM, basics of CPT coding, coding conventions, and real-time applications in healthcare settings. Hands-on exercises and case-based discussions were included to enhance students’ understanding and practical skills. The course enabled students to gain awareness about career opportunities in the field of medical coding and healthcare management. The programme was highly informative and interactive, receiving positive feedback from the participants. Nearly 97 students actively took part in the course, making it a valuable academic initiative that enriched their knowledge and industry readiness.
