IEP: Effective Methods of Developing Employability Skills For The Future.

Career Development Cell of Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal organized an Industry Expectation Program on the topic of “Effective Methods of Developing Employability Skills For The Future” on 27.07.2019(Saturday) for All Final Year (BIOTECH/ECE/EEE/CSE/CIVIL/MECH) Engineering students., Mr. Daniel Jacob, Vice President-HR, EC Group Data soft Pvt. Ltd, Chennai has consented as the eminent speaker of the event. The function was presided by Dr. P.Selvaraj, Chairman of the Selvam group of institutions, Trustee Mrs. Jayam Selvaraj, Vice Chairman Dr. S. Babu and Secretary Dr. Kaviethra Nandhini Babu. Principal Dr. A.Natarajan and Dean-Academic Dr.P.Manimekalai felicitated the event. Mr.N.Prasannan Head-CDC Welcomed the gathering. During the event, In Chief Guest Address Mr. Daniel Jacob pinpointed that according to a recent survey, IT and ITES projected to generate approximately 2 million jobs in the coming financial year. He added that, with the big IT companies shifting their focus from the metropolitans to the Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities, the IT graduates & IT job aspirants (in these small towns) have a reason to celebrate, as this move has opened up avenues for great IT job opportunities right in their hometowns which were such good news to the rural students . And finally, he said that “Industry experts and NASSCOM say the Indian IT workforce will touch 30 million by 2020, becoming the highest sector employer”. It is expected that there will also be a steady increase in salary structure in the IT sector. He also motivated the students and gave them few tips to be in successful in their career. It was totally a useful and astounding session for the students.
