Guest Lecture on “Innovations in Advanced Engineering Materials”
The Department of Science and Humanities, Selvam College of Technology organized a Guest Lecture Programme on “Innovation in Advanced Engineering Materials” on 27.11.2024 for the I-Year students. Dr. P. Selvaraj, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, presided over the inaugural function in the august presence of Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary of Selvam Educational Institutions and Mr. M. Karthik, Executive Director of Selvam College of Technology. Dr. A. Jegan, Principal, addressed the students. Mrs. R. Babysalini, I-Year Academic Coordinator & Head of the Department welcomed the gathering.
Dr.I.Cicili Ignatius, Professor, Department of Physics, Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan University, Perambalur honoured the event as the resource person. He started the session by illustrating creativity and encouraged the students to think creatively. He quoted “Those who utilize a creativity in learning they are like shining stars”. He nurtured the students to involve themselves in learning. He gave more live examples to the students. His lecture on “Hall Effect” and “semi-conductor” helped the students to understand the topic clearly. His enthusiasm towards the subject made the session lively and interesting. He used the visuals and slides to make the concepts clearer. The way he explained complex Engineering concepts was easier to understand and also the students learned a lot about the practical applications of Engineering Physics.
The session was highly informative and beneficial for all the I-Year students.
