
Torque-2k25, A National Level Technical Symposium
On 21st March 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering proudly hosted “TORQUE 2K25”, A National Level Technical Symposium, bringing together budding engineers from across the state to showcase their technical acumen, innovative ideas, and problem-solving skills.
The grand event was presided over by Dr. P. Selvaraj, Chairman of Selvam Educational Institutions, in the esteemed presence of Dr. B. Kaviethra Nandhini, Secretary and Mr. M. Karthik, Executive Director.
Dr. A. Jegan, Principal, Selvam College of Technology, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the significance of technical advancements in shaping the future of engineering. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. G. Selvaraj, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The symposium was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Rtn.Er.E.N.Surendran, B.E., Former Divisional Manager & Head of Ashok Leyland – Driver Training Institute, Namakkal and Chairman of Road Safety – Rotary International, District 2982.
In his insightful keynote session, he enlightened the students on essential professional traits, that include Time Management – The key to balancing efficiency and effectiveness, Loyalty & Dedication – Core values for professional growth and credibility, Work Ethic & Ownership – The importance of taking responsibility in one’s career and Professional Ethics – Building a culture of integrity in engineering and beyond. His speech motivated young minds to embrace discipline, responsibility, and commitment as essential virtues for future leaders in the industry.
“TORQUE 2K25” was a grand success, fostering knowledge exchange, technical excellence, and industry insights among students and faculty. The event reinforced Selvam College of Technology’s commitment to nurturing engineering talent and innovation, empowering the next generation of engineers to think, create and lead.
More than 320 participants participated in the various events. Finally, prizes were distributed to the winners of the events.
