Seminar on Introduction to Biomedical Signals (ECG, EEG, EMG)
The Department of Biomedical Engineering organized a Seminar on “Introduction to Biomedical Signals (ECG, EEG, EMG)” on 10.01.2026. The program aimed to provide foundational knowledge on biomedical signals and their importance in modern healthcare and medical diagnostics. The resource person for the session was Dr. P. Padmaloshani, ASP/ECE, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal. The session explained the basic principles, characteristics, and clinical significance of major biomedical signals such as Electrocardiogram (ECG), Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electromyogram (EMG) and highlighted how these signals are used for monitoring physiological activities, diagnosing medical conditions and supporting biomedical research. Overall, the Seminar was highly informative and beneficial, helping students gain practical insights into biomedical signal analysis and its applications in healthcare technology. Nearly 100 students got benefited.
