Outreach programme – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan – Temple cleaning in Unjapalayam village, Paramathi-Velur, Namakkal

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS), organized an Outreach Programme under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Unjapalayam village, Paramathi-Velur, Namakkal. Students actively participated in cleaning the temple premises and surrounding areas. Waste, plastic materials, and debris were removed as part of the cleanliness drive.

The activity created awareness about the importance of maintaining clean public spaces. It also emphasized the need to preserve cultural and religious sites. Faculty members guided and motivated the students throughout the programme. The initiative highlighted the values of community service, environmental responsibility, and civic sense. Students developed teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility skills. The programme was well received by the local community. Nearly 60 students participated, making the event a meaningful and impactful experience that reinforced the message of “Clean India, Green India.”
