LI-FI BASED WIRELESS DATA TRANSFER
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a technical workshop on Li-Fi Based Wireless Data Transfer on 28.02.2026 at the Circuits and Devices Laboratory as part of its initiative to enhance students’ knowledge in emerging communication technologies. The workshop was handled by Mrs. N. S. Elakkiya, M.E., (Ph.D), Head & AP, Department of ECE, and Mrs. D. Ezhilarasi, M.E., AP, Department of ECE, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) technology and its role in high-speed wireless communication using visible light. The resource persons explained the working principle of Li-Fi systems, components involved in optical wireless communication, transmitter and receiver design, and practical implementation aspects for wireless data transfer. Students also gained insights into the advantages of Li-Fi over conventional RF-based communication, including higher bandwidth, improved security, and reduced electromagnetic interference. The program served as an informative learning platform for III Year ECE students, helping them connect theoretical concepts with practical applications in next-generation communication technologies.
