Selvam College of Technology, the Department by the Department of civil Engineering, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu Successfully Conducted Hands-on Training on “Site marking and multiple roles of civil engineer”.
The Department of Civil Engineering successfully organized a Hands-on Training Programme on “Site Marking and Surveying”, aimed at bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world construction practices.
The programme focused on providing practical exposure to site marking techniques, which form the foundation of any construction project. Students were introduced to the importance of accurate layout marking, measurements, and alignment methods used at construction sites. The session also highlighted how proper site marking ensures safety, cost efficiency, and structural accuracy.
The resource person for the programme was Mr. Siva Sudiyappo Ramadass, a distinguished professional from Seshan Infrastructure LLP, Coimbatore. With his rich industry experience, he shared valuable insights into the diverse roles played by civil engineers, including site execution, planning, supervision, project management, quality control, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Mr. Siva SudiyappoRamadass explained real-time challenges faced on construction sites and demonstrated practical approaches to overcome them. His interactive session enabled students to understand industry expectations and career opportunities in the civil engineering domain.
