Hands-on Training on Power Generation Using Renewable Energy (Solar)

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, organized a Hands-on Training on Power Generation Using Renewable Energy (Solar) on 07.02.2026 (Saturday) for III Year EEE and Mechanical Engineering students. The resource persons,Mr. Shanmugavadivel, Managing Director, and Mr. R. Udhayan, Manager–Operations, Zencore Solar, Salem, explained the fundamentals of solar power generation systems and their working principles. The session covered solar inverters, charge controllers, batteries, protection devices, and the measurement and analysis of solar power output, efficiency, and performance parameters. A live demonstration of grid-connected and off-grid solar systems was also conducted. In addition, the speakers provided an overview of government policies, subsidies, and career opportunities in the renewable energy sector. Nearly 60 students actively participated and benefited from the training.
