
Hands on Training on “Google Workspace Power Skills “Held at Selvam College of Technology
The Department of Science and Humanities organized a Hands-on Training programme on “Google Workspace Power Skills” for I Year ECE students on 28th February 2026 during the Forenoon session at the CAD Lab. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential digital productivity and professional skills required for academic excellence and future workplace readiness.
The training session was conducted by Mr T.SivanesanAssistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Selvam College of Technology. The resource person provided in-depth technical guidance along with live demonstrations, helping students understand the effective use of various Google Workspace applications.
During the session, students received practical exposure to Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, and Google Drive. The resource person guided them in creating professional documents, preparing effective presentations, designing online forms, managing data efficiently, and collaborating through shared platforms. She also highlighted the importance of cloud storage, real-time editing, and teamwork in today’s digital environment.
Special emphasis was placed on improving workflow efficiency, maintaining digital organization, ensuring data security, and applying collaborative tools for academic projects and research documentation. The session also demonstrated how these tools can support report writing, data analysis, seminar presentations, and project management.
During the interactive hands-on session, students actively practiced creating shared documents, designing online forms, analysing data using spreadsheets, and delivering collaborative presentations under expert guidance. The training enabled them to gain practical exposure to digital tools that are essential for higher education and professional environments.
The program was highly informative and beneficial, equipping students with valuable digital competencies and real-world productivity skills. A total of51participants actively took part in the training program.
