Hands-On Training on Dialysis Machine demo and Result Preparation
Selvam College of Technology, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, successfully organized a hands-on training program on “Dialysis Machine demo and Result Preparation”.The primary objective of this hands-on training program was to provide students with practical exposure to the hemo dialysis machine, its components, working principles, and dialysis kit assembly procedures.
The training session was handled by the resource person, Mr.Kavinraj, Dialysis Technician,MM Hospital, Namakkal &Ms. M. Susmitha, B.E., Service Engineer, Medingers Healthcare, Erode. The session commenced at 09:30 a.m, delivered an insightful session explaining the basic principles of hemodialysis, major components of the hemodialysis machine, safety features, alarms, and operational parameters. The session emphasized the clinical relevance of dialysis in renal failure management.
The Hands-On Training session focused on dialysis kit assembly, including blood tubing set connections, dialyzer handling, priming process, and safety precautions to be followed during operation. Students actively participated and gained hands-on experience under expert supervision. Real-time troubleshooting scenarios and maintenance tips were also discussed, enhancing students’ understanding of biomedical service engineering roles.
The interactive nature of the program encouraged students to clarify doubts related to machine handling, clinical applications, and career opportunities in the healthcare equipment industry.
The program was highly informative and beneficial, offering students valuable exposure to life-saving medical equipmentand 101 participants get benefited from this event.
