
Hands-On Training on “Agriculture Chatbot Creation”
Selvam College of Technology, the Department of Information Technology, successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Agriculture Chatbot Creation” with the objective of empowering first-year students with practical skills in developing AI-driven digital solutions for the agricultural sector. The workshop was conducted on 31.01.2026 at the Computer Programming Laboratory and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the IT Department.
The session was led by Mrs. R. Nivetha Prabha, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, who served as the resource person. She provided comprehensive guidance on chatbot development and introduced participants to key concepts such as chatbot design, natural language processing (NLP), and practical implementation techniques for delivering automated assistance to agricultural queries.
The workshop concluded with engaging hands-on activities, during which students developed basic chatbot models, tested conversational flows, and learned effective debugging strategies. Participants expressed their appreciation for the practical and application-oriented approach of the workshop, highlighting its role in fostering innovation in the domain of smart agriculture.
This initiative reflects the growing trend of integrating artificial intelligence and digital technologies to support the agricultural community and aligns with national efforts toward developing AI-based solutions for farmer assistance and rural empowerment.Through this event, 55 participants get benefited and developed the application.
