Guest Lecture on Mind Meets Machine: Emerging Neuro technologies in Psychological Treatment
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the guest lecture on “Mind Meets Machine: Emerging Neuro technologies in Psychological Treatment” was conducted on 13.09.2025 to enrich the knowledge of students on the recent advancements in psychology and technology. The session was delivered by Dr. N. Gnanamanikandan, Senior Consultant and Clinical Psychologist, Neuro Foundation, Salem. In his talk, Dr. Gnanamanikandan highlighted how the integration of neuroscience and technology is transforming the diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders. The lecture emphasized the potential of these technologies to aid in the treatment of conditions like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and post-traumatic stress disorder, while also addressing ethical concerns, patient privacy, and the need for responsible innovation. He also discussed real-world case examples from his clinical practice, which made the session more practical and engaging for the audience. Nearly 100 students benefited.
