GUEST LECTURE ON “CYBER SHIELD: AWARENESS AND SAFETY PROGRAMME”
The Departments of AI&DS, CSE, ECE and MBA jointly organized a Guest Lecture on “Cyber Shield: Awareness and Safety Programme” on 07.02.2026 at 09:30 AM in the ISDTP Seminar Hall. The program was conducted at Selvam College of Technology, Namakkal, with the objective of creating awareness among students about cyber security threats, online safety practices, and cybercrime prevention measures. The session was organized for II Year AI&DS, CSE, ECE and MBA students, and a total of 150 students benefited from the programme. The expert session was delivered by R. Vijayaragavan, Additional Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, who explained various types of cybercrimes, digital frauds, social media risks, and legal actions related to cyber offenses. The session also featured D. Roselin Anthoniamal, Sub-Inspector of Police, Cybercrime Police Station, who provided practical guidance on safe internet usage, digital privacy protection, and steps to take while facing cyber threats. The programme enhanced students’ awareness about cyber safety, responsible digital behavior, and legal aspects of cyber security. The session also encouraged students to become responsible digital citizens and stay vigilant against emerging cyber threats.
