Mission
We inspire our students to learn the methods and the ways, to reduce e-wastes. Also, we make our students to continue practice on sustainable development. We inspire our students to follow 3R’s concept (Reduce, Reuse& Recycle) and to equip the students with sound basic knowledge on chemistry.
Objectives
- To explore the knowledge of Polymers Structures, Mechanism and its applications in life & in industries.
- To generate new ideas and thoughts towards the applications of thermodynamic principles in various branches of engineering disciplines.
- To provide the knowledge on Nano-science and its recent applications in various fields.
- To afford the basic knowledge in energy resources and applications of batteries.
- To aware the concept on engineering materials and fuels.
Equipments Available in the Laboratory
Spectrophotometer, Flame photometer, pH meter, Hot air oven, Muffle furnace, Constant temperature water/oil bath set-up, Portable photocatalytic reactor, Optical microscope, Analytical balance and water purifying unit.

Selvam Nanomaterials Research Laboratory
(Yet to be established, awaiting for external research funding)
Selvam Nanomaterials Research Laboratory (SNRL) is planned to develop basic research facilities for synthesizing nanomaterials for various applications. Herein our laboratory we are planning to synthesize various ceramic nanomaterials for environmental and bio applications. Also we have a research plan to collaborate with Selvam Composite Materials Research Laboratory (SCMRL) for the synthesis of polymer nanocomposite materials.

- Homogeneous and heterogeneous photocatalysis.
- Solar photocatalytic industrial wastewater treatment.
- Fluorescence bioimaging using ceramic nanophosphors materials.
- Nanobiotechnology in vivo and in vitro nanotoxicological studies.
